Award of the Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Prize (3rd edition)

The award ceremony for the Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Prize took place on 20 February in Lisbon.
Twenty-four works were submitted for the 3rd edition of the Prize, and the jury honoured A Case for Virtue. Ethics, Modern Life, and the Arts, by Pedro Franco.
The prize, worth twenty thousand euros, was presented to the author by the members of the jury: Vasco Vieira de Almeida, António Feijó, António Marques, Henrique Leitão, Hermenegildo Fernandes, José Pedro Serra, Matilde Horta e Costa e Miguel Tamen.
Set up by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation in partnership with the University of Lisbon and the Faculty of Letters of the University of Lisbon (FLUL), the purpose of this biennial prize is to celebrate the memory of Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida, as well as to reveal new scientific work in the several areas of humanities research.
The Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Prize is aimed at FLUL graduates, masters, doctors and post-doctoral researchers, up to five years after the completion of their academic degree or their status as a post-doctoral researcher.
