The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, in partnership with the University of Lisbon and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL), launches the 4th edition of the Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Award.

This award aims to honour the memory of the distinguished professor of FLUL, who left an indelible mark on the intellectual life of that institution, by recognising and showcasing new talents and scientific works in the field of Humanities.

The Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Award is biennial in nature, and it is open to graduates, master's degree holders, PhD holders, or postdoctoral researchers from FLUL, up to a maximum of five years after the completion of their academic degree or the end of their postdoctoral researcher status.

The amount of the Award is twenty thousand euros, plus a maximum of six thousand euros may be added to support the publication expenses of the awarded work.

In this 4th edition, scientific and/or research works focused on any field of the Humanities are eligible, and applications must be submitted by 31 July 2026.
