InclusivaMente Project

06 June, 2019

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and the EAPN Portugal - European Anti-Poverty Network, recently completed the first cycle of the training course in the context of the “InclusivaMente: Human Rights in the context of Ageing and Mental Health” pilot project.

From March to May, the project toured the districts of Bragança, Leiria, Setúbal, Évora and Funchal, with 105 participants from more than 40 organisations from the social economy sector providing care to the elderly and/or people with diminished capacity.

The training sessions have been strongly supported by the organisations, with very interested and participatory groups of participants, which has greatly contributed to the quality and success of the project.
The second phase of the pilot project will begin in September, with training sessions in the districts of Castelo Branco, Guarda, Braga, Porto and Faro.

The InclusivaMente Project occurs in the context of the recent approval of the “Maior Acompanhado” new legal status and framework, with the aim of contributing to improve the knowledge of organisations providing care to the elderly and/or people with diminished capacity, as to how they can effectively guarantee the Human Rights of their users and beneficiaries.
