Protocol between the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and EAPN Portugal - European Anti-Poverty Network

19 November, 2018

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation believes in collaborative action and works to establish new partnerships to promote citizenship education in the context of its strategic axes.

As part of these efforts, on 9 October, the VVA Foundation signed a collaboration protocol with EAPN Portugal - European Anti-Poverty Network, in the context of the conference “Pensar a Luta contra a Pobreza. Criar Compromissos”organised by EAPN.

This partnership aims to foster greater cooperation between the two organisations, with a view to creating, consolidating and maintaining a National Anti-Poverty Observatory in Portugal.

The Observatory’s mission is to study the phenomena of poverty and social exclusion in Portuguese society, taking into account not only their diverse manifestations and effects in the various spheres of social life, but also their underlying reproduction processes.

Other participants in this project include the Regional Secretariat for Inclusion and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, Faro City Council, and Vila do Conde and Santo Tirso’s Santas Casas da Misericórdia (Holy Houses of Mercy).
