Everyone deserves the opportunity to discover their potential and build a future with purpose. In this spirit, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation has signed an agreement with the Transformers Movement to support Academia de Rua, a project that turns talent into opportunity.

Based in Porto, Academia de Rua's mission is to create a safe and inspiring space for 60 young people, aged between 17 and 26, who are at risk of social exclusion. Through the development of personal, social and professional skills, young people are prepared for the future.

With the support of a specialised team and a network of partners who believe in the transformative power of talent, participants are encouraged to develop their strengths and build a life and career plan.

As part of Partnerships for Social Innovation (Portugal Social Innovation), the Foundation is reinforcing its commitment to civic participation and equal opportunities, highlighting the talent and determination of three young people who have found in dance, writing and music a way to express themselves, learn and grow in confidence.

We will continue to help ensure these young people’s voices are heard — and that they have a place in the future.
