The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation strengthens its partnership with Teach For Portugal

Over the past few months, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation has strengthened its collaboration with Teach For Portugal (TFP) through the participation of VdA staff members in several initiatives organised by TFP.

This collaboration, which stems from a partnership established in 2019, has taken shape through three initiatives this year:

• Candidate Assessment Centres: 22 VdA staff members took part in this stage of TFP’s mentor recruitment and selection process, helping to assess candidates. The process aims to identify the skills and potential required to take on the role of mentor and contribute to reducing educational inequality, both inside and outside the classroom.
• Career Day: the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation also took part in this initiative, which aims to support mentors in their professional development by giving them the opportunity to learn more about different sectors and broaden their professional networks.
• Summer Placement: for three weeks, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation hosted Maria Beatriz Rego, a mentor from Teach For Portugal’s 7th Generation. The placement gave her the opportunity to follow the Foundation’s activities at close quarters and learn about its ongoing projects, partners and areas of intervention, providing a broader perspective on social investment and community engagement.

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation supports Teach For Portugal, a non-profit organisation that is part of the international Teach For All network and works to ensure that ‘a child’s postcode does not determine their future’.
