Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation hosts the Women2Women Portugal conference

25 September, 2019

On 12 September, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation welcomed, at VdA's Lisbon office, 75 participants of the Women2Women Portugal project for an afternoon dedicated to activism and entrepreneurship.

Women2Women is a women's leadership programme, based in the United States (Boston), which annually brings together more than 100 girls with leadership potential from around the world to promote the development of key skills in the fields of leadership, cultural awareness, conflict resolution and civic involvement.

The determination to provide a similar experience to more Portuguese girls and young women led a young alumni of the Women2Women programme to launch the project in Portugal, under the name Women2Women Portugal. Its first edition, held in Lisbon from 9 to 13 September, gathered a group of 16 to 21-year-old girls, who were selected through a national application process, to participate in an intensive transformative leadership training programme.

Following this training programme, the young participants pursue the impactful projects they have created, developing and implementing them in their communities.
