"Don't Get Caught in the Net" campaign arrives in schools across Portugal

01 July, 2025

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, in partnership with Teach for Portugal and No Bully Portugal, is implementing the ‘Don't Fall Into the Trap’ project in school networks nationwide.

The main objective of the project is to raise awareness among young people about the considered, safe and responsible use of digital platforms, addressing issues such as online privacy and security, and the emotional and psychological impact of bullying and cyberbullying.

The project includes practical and interactive activities, raising students' awareness of the applicable laws related to cyberbullying and promoting discussion about individual responsibilities in the digital environment.

The project, led by Ana Festas Henriques and alumna Sofia Neves Taveira, in the context of an internal competition promoted by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, is being implemented by ten mentors from Teach for Portugal in 26 classes from eight school clusters in vulnerable contexts, having so far impacted more than 500 students between the 5th and 6th years of schooling. This joint effort reinforces the commitment of the organisations involved to promoting the education of young people who are more aware, critical and capable of responsibly facing the challenges and opportunities of the digital world.
