Girl MOVE Academy

07 October, 2024

The Girl MOVE Academy Internships at Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida ended on 20 September.

Girl movers Hiris Jamal and Shelsia Ricotso spent three intensive weeks learning from the work of staff from different Practice Areas, in particular the Social Economy & Human Rights Area, and from Management Areas at Vieira de Almeida’s (VdA) offices in Lisbon and Porto.

This internship further allowed them to get acquainted with social innovation projects developed with partners of the Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida, which we thank for the generosity with which they dedicated themselves to this project.

To mark the end of the internships, the girl movers presented their Impact Talks at the António de Magalhães Cardoso Auditorium in VdA's Lisbon office, an event that was much applauded by the audience and sparked a great deal of emotion.

The Girl Move Leadership Academy focuses on female leadership training for young people, to create impact and spread social change by identifying and tapping into talent in Mozambique.
