Strengthening of partnership with Girl MOVE Academy

22 February, 2019

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation has strengthened its partnership with Girl MOVE Academy, An organization that is actively contributing to shaping a world where all women can have access to opportunities to be leaders and agents of positive change.

Girl MOVE Academy implements innovative mentoring methodologies aimed at young Mozambican women, promoting their sustainable training and integration in their communities as disruptive leaders for the development and positive transformation of the World.

As firm believers in the power of education and in the multiplier effect of women’s role in society, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA collaborated with Girl MOVE Academy, throughout 2018, on two of its programmes:

  • CHANGE: As part of this leadership and social entrepreneurship programme, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA received Alice Ambrucer, whose Life Internship had a huge impact on the Firm
  • BELIEVE: In the context of VdA’s Christmas Campaign, its lawyers and staff raised enough funds to grant 178 scholarships to Mwarusi girls (girls between the ages of 12 and 15), thus helping to guarantee their access to education for one year
