Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA participate in Teach for Portugal initiatives

09 June, 2025

As part of the partnership with Teach For Portugal, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, together with VdA, participated in three initiatives: Candidate Assessment Centres, Career Day, and Student Talks.

  • Candidate Assessment Centres: represent a crucial stage in the recruitment process for mentors, who go on to become agents of change both inside and outside the classroom.

Iñaki Carrera, Marta Stock da Cunha, Andreia Vidal TamBeatriz Assunção Ribeiro, Catarina Salgado e Castro, Maria Sales Luís,  Ana Santos and Vânia Campos acted as assessors, contributing to the identification of future leaders committed to reducing educational inequality and improving the lives of children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • Career Day: aims to influence the professional trajectories of participants by enabling them to expand their networks and interact with companies aligned with their future aspirations.

At this event, which brought together finalist mentors and Alumni from Teach For Portugal with professionals and organisations, Inês Moreno and Inês Morais Loureiro shared insights into their own career journeys.

  • Student Talks: an online session featuring professionals from fields of interest to the students, who shared their career paths and work experiences.

Sara Alves Lourenço, a VdA lawyer, was invited to discuss her professional journey and answer students' questions about choosing a law degree and exploring career opportunities within the field.

Since 2018, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation has supported Teach For Portugal, a Portuguese non-profit organisation that is part of the international Teach For All network, which strives daily to ensure that ‘a child's postcode does not determine their future’.
