Another Junior Achievement Portugal school year comes to an end!

08 August, 2019

In the context of the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA’s partnership with Junior Achievement Portugal (“JAP”), during the 2018/2019 school year 34 VdA volunteers implemented entrepreneurship education programmes in primary, middle and secondary schools, having devoted more than 340 hours of volunteering with an impact on more than 530 students.

Over five sessions, VdA volunteers delivered the JAP programmes in a classroom setting and, together with the classroom directors, shared their experience as professionals, addressing key issues related to Citizenship, Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship Education and Skills for Employability.

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA also strengthened their participation in JAP’s activities, having joined the “Braço Direito” and the “100 Leaders 4 a Day” projects, which saw VdA volunteers be job shadowed by high school and university students, with the aim of providing these students first-hand contact with the business world, expanding their network and promoting fruitful exchange between generations.
