Girl MOVE Academy Internships

22 November, 2022

From 3 to 27 October VdA and Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida welcomed two girl movers at their Lisbon and Porto offices: Yara Charuto and Denise Mboana.

During this period, these young Mozambican women had the opportunity to contact with staff from various Practice Areas and Management Areas and to get to know in greater depth the work carried out by the various VdA teams. Also in line with their Internship Plans, the two girl movers visited several partner projects of the Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida, such as Stand4Good, the Manicómio and Vencer Autismo.

On the last day of the internship, Yara and Denise Mboana shared their Impact Talks with the VdA community in a session full of emotions and senses.

We thank all those who actively participated in these Internships and who contributed to make this period truly rich and transformative for both of them.

"It was the most impactful professional experience of my life. An internship completely aligned with my aspirations and causes, where I was able to meet organizations in the VdA family ecosystem linked to the promotion and protection of human rights that will certainly inspire my next steps".

Denise Mboana

"Being at VdA was an incredible and challenging experience. Much more than learning, I had the mission of opening myself to a much larger universe of people than my normal one, and having this possibility made me see that leadership sometimes asks us to be more sociable because alone we cannot create the changes we want in the world. It was gratifying to have been impacted by hundreds of people".
