Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA participate in the GIRO 2.0 Programme

20 August, 2019

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA reinforce their role in corporate social responsibility by once again participating in the GIRO initiative, promoted by GRACE - Grupo de Reflexão e Apoio à Cidadania Empresarial, an entity chaired by VdA.

Recognising the importance and rich potential of partnerships between companies and social organisations, GRACE has restructured its corporate volunteering initiative into a new format, presented as GIRO 2.0, an annual sustainability-focused programme aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, and characterised by greater continuity and a closer connection to the community.

The implementation of GIRO 2.0 will increase the impact of related actions among local organisations and third sector projects, bring companies closer to social economy entities and their needs, and facilitate the involvement of employees in long-term volunteer actions. In this context, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA joined the GIRO 2.0 pilot project, having participated in six volunteer actions promoted by GRACE and developed in partnership with the following institutions: Associação BIPP – Inclusão para a Deficiência, Quinta Essência and Renovar a Mouraria.
