Braço Direito, A day in your Future!

18 June, 2021

As in previous years, Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida participated in the Junior Achievement Portugal’s Braço Direito Program.

The Braço Direito Program exposes high school students to the corporate world and offers them a better insight into their dream profession and what to expect in terms of tasks and duties.

Alexandra Justo and Margarida Brito Cruz participated in this year’s Braço Direito Program, which had to be held online due to the pandemic.

Both VdA team members welcomed two students and shared their professional experience and career with them.

“Being able to participate in JAP’s Braço Direito Program and to help students choose their future profession was incredibly rewarding. Talking to someone already in the market, who can share their experience, is a great added value for these students and could prove decisive in their future career decision. This is, without a doubt, a great initiative of JAP!”

“It is an honor and a privilege to volunteer every year for Junior Achievement Portugal’s Braço Direito Program. To be able to support young people in their first experience of what working life is like, encourage them and somehow influence their career choice is both a huge responsibility and a reason to be proud of myself.  It is essential for a young person, who is about to decide on their future, to be able to talk with professionals in their areas of interest and get a more practical and objective perspective of each activity. Junior Achievement Portugal’s work is highly commendable and it is always a great pleasure to be able to help ensure its success.”
