Inspiring education: another year of activities with Junior Achievement Portugal

Throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, 54 VdA professionals stepped away from their day-to-day work to spend time in the classroom, sharing their knowledge, experience and perspectives with students across different stages of education. This initiative, promoted by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and VdA in partnership with Junior Achievement Portugal, reached more than 960 primary and secondary school students through programmes focused on entrepreneurship, financial literacy and the development of future-ready skills.

At primary school level, VdA volunteers delivered the 'A Família', 'A Comunidade' and 'Finanças em Ação' programmes, helping to foster citizenship, responsibility and collaboration among younger students. Through practical and interactive activities, these initiatives encouraged pupils to explore how communities function and the role each individual plays in society.

At secondary school level, VdA took part in the 'Braço Direito' programme, giving 11 students the opportunity to experience a real working day alongside VdA professionals and gain first-hand insight into different career paths. Through the 'A Empresa' programme, VdA professionals also contributed to a range of other initiatives, including Mentoring Open Week, Application Assessment, a Webinar on Intellectual Property, and the Junior Markets, held in Porto, Lisbon and Cascais.

Together, these initiatives resulted in more than 400 hours of volunteering, dedicated to empowering the next generation.
