Launch of the Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida Award
The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation launches today the Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida Award with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, in an event which will be attended by His Excellency the President of the Portuguese Republic.
On this occasion, the book on the life and work of Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida will also be presented.
This Prize, established by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation with the support of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, celebrates the life and work of Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida and focuses on research work of innovative models in the area of early childhood, pre-primary and primary education.
The promotion of an education based on innovative and inclusive archetypes, which may contribute to a more effective defence of human rights, is one of the pillars of the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, and is the basis for the promotion of this award.
Graduates, masters or doctorate students or post-doctoral researchers in any field of knowledge may apply for the Award. The best work submitted in each edition will receive a prize of 20,000 Euros. The jury will be made up of personalities of recognised prestige in the field of education. The works concerning Edition I of the Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida Award must be submitted by 31 march 2023.

The launch event of the Prize and the presentation of the book on the life and work of Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida will take place today at 16h00 in Auditorium 2 of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
