31 May was the deadline for the submission of applications for the Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Award, promoted by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, in partnership with the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (FLUL), with the aim of fostering research and contributing to the advancement of knowledge and innovation as essential dimensions of the construction of a more open, engaged and inclusive society.

25 applications were submitted by undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students, as well as postdoctoral researchers, from FLUL, who presented papers in the various Humanities research areas.

The jury, composed of Vasco Vieira de Almeida (Founding Partner of Vieira de Almeida), Miguel Tamen (Director of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon), José Pedro Serra (Director of the Library of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon), António Feijó (Pro-Rector of the University of Lisbon and Director of the University of Lisbon Press) and José Gil (Philosopher and essayist), will assess the submissions until 15 October, with the results being announced on the 30th of the same month.
