Programme "A Empresa" | Junior Achievement Portugal

Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida [Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation] has joined the “A Empresa” program promoted by Junior Achievement Portugal (JAP).

“A Empresa” is Junior Achievement's flagship program and has been spotlighted as best practice by the European Commission. High school students are challenged to create and manage a mini company over the course of a school year in a classroom setting. The core goal of the program is to promote entrepreneurship among young people and ready them for a global economy.

VdA was represented throughout the program’s three stages in this year’s edition.

Bruna Pinto Marques, Chen Chen and Miguel Guerreiro participated in the Submission Evaluation phase, Inês Moreno, Maria Garcia Guerra, Maria João Santos and Pedro Duarte Batista participated in the Junior Market (pitch and stand evaluation), and Isabel Gião de Andrade was part of the jury panel in the A Empresa XVI National Competition held at the Super Bock Arena - Pavilhão Rosa Mota. The event brought together the program's 25 mini companies selected in the Junior Market. The winning mini company that will represent Portugal at #Gen-E 23  was WillChair, which developed a technology for manual wheelchairs that makes them practically electric.

Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida thanks the volunteers who participated in this edition of the “A Empresa” Program.
