The Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida (Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation) established the Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida Award, backed by the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian (Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation), to honour the memory of Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida.

We would like to thank all candidates for submitting their work, which most certainly contributed to new results in the field of early childhood, pre-primary, and primary education, inspired by innovative and inclusive archetypes.

The work of the two winners of the 1st edition of the Ana Maria Vieira de Almeida Award has already been published, and their research can be found below:
