Relatable

As part of the “Parcerias para a Inovação Social” financial instrument , the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation supports the Relatableproject, run by Access Lab. The project aims to support 150 young disabled people who have dropped out of school or are at risk of doing so. It seeks to create conditions that enable these young people to remain in education, set out life plans, and access concrete opportunities.

This project, developed in Portugal’s North and Greater Lisbon regions, is based on the idea that many young people fall behind not because of a lack of ability, but due to a lack of accessibility, adequate support, and networks.

Expected to last three years, “Relatable” offers a structured programme including preparation and recruitment phases, inspirational talks, workshops, civic engagement activities, mentoring, and the development of a practical project. Through these initiatives, the project seeks to promote independence and self-esteem, and support young people in developing skills and setting educational and life goals.
