EAPN Portugal – National Anti-Poverty Observatory
The European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN), whose mission is to combat poverty, works to build a more just and supportive society where all are jointly responsible for guaranteeing Human Rights and promoting a more conscious and inclusive citizenship.
A strong believer in the power of collaborative action, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation collaborates with EAPN Portugal in the development, consolidation and maintenance of a National Anti-Poverty Observatory in Portugal.
This Observatory was established to permanently study the phenomena of poverty and social exclusion in Portuguese society, analysing their various manifestations and effects in the different spheres of social life, as well as their underlying reproduction processes.
Other partners are included in this project: the Secretaria Regional da Inclusão e Assuntos Sociais da Região Autónoma da Madeira [Regional Office for Inclusion and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Region of Madeira], the Câmara Municipal de Faro [Faro City Hall], the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Vila do Conde [Vila do Conde Gouse of Mercy] and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Santo Tirso [Santo Tirso House of Mercy].
The National Observatory is Sponsored by His Excellency, the President of the Republic.
