Junior Achievement Portugal

Corporate Volunteering

Junior Achievement Portugal  (JAP) is a pioneering non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and job market readiness among children and young people in Portugal. JAP is part of the global Junior Achievement Worldwide network, which is one of the largest and oldest organisations for economic education and youth entrepreneurship.

Throughout the academic year, JAP runs a variety of initiatives developed in partnership with schools, institutions, and businesses. These initiatives are aimed at primary, secondary, and university students and are delivered by corporate-sector volunteers.

These activities include entrepreneurship challenges, active citizenship experiences, financial literacy initiatives, and opportunities to meet professionals from various fields. This fosters the development of key skills for a more informed, independent, and responsible future.

As one of the founding entities of Junior Achievement Portugal, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation is committed to strengthening its connection to the promotion of citizenship education and the development of skills among younger generations through this partnership.

This partnership primarily involves VdA staff actively participating in JAP initiatives and programmes, particularly those aimed at Primary School students, such as “A Família”, “A Comunidade”, “Europa e Eu”, “Desenha o teu Futuro”, “É o Meu Negócio” and “Economia para o Sucesso”, as well as Secondary School programmes such as “A Empresa” and “Braço Direito”, among other one-off initiatives.

The partnership strengthens the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation's dedication to fostering citizenship education and equipping the younger generation for the challenges ahead.
