Partnerships

The Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation focuses on collaborative networking, actively establishing new and strengthening existing partnerships with key national and international stakeholders in the social and environmental sectors.

Associação BIPP – Inclusão para a Deficiência

BIPP – Inclusion for Disability is a private institution of social solidarity with the mission of fostering the social inclusion of citizens with disabilities. In this context, BIPP created and runs the SEMEAR Project, an integrated programme that promotes the full inclusion in society of young people and adults with intellectual and developmental difficulties through capacity-building, training and the development of skills for employability, working towards their subsequent social and professional integration in the organisation’s companies and social businesses.

CPF

Centro Português de Fundações (Portuguese Centre for Foundations) is an association recognized by Government as of public interest, representing foundations in Portugal, with over one hundred associates from across the country. Together, CPF members proactively contribute to social, educational, scientific, environmental and cultural progress, both domestically and abroad, notably in Portuguese-speaking countries.

EAPN – Rede Europeia Anti-Pobreza

The European Anti-Poverty Network (EAPN) is the largest European network gathering national, regional and local networks of NGOs, grassroot groups and European organisations active in the fight against poverty and social exclusion. Since 1991, EAPN has been working in Portugal to build a fair and supportive society, where all are responsible for guaranteeing citizens' access to a dignified life, based on the respect for Human Rights and the full exercise of an informed, participative and inclusive citizenship. To this end, it develops research and social intervention projects aimed at mobilising local organisations towards a better understanding of the phenomena of poverty and social exclusion and the taking of action in the communities most affected by these constraints.

ENTRAJUDA

ENTRAJUDA is an irrefutable organization engaged in the strengthening of the Portuguese not-for-profit sector, notably of social solidarity organizations recognized by Government as such (IPSS9, of Charities, giving them access to the means and resources necessary to effective work within social inclusion, mobilizing the public into structured civic intervention in fighting poverty.

EVPA - European Venture Philanthropy Association

EVPA - European Venture Philanthropy Association is a membership association and network made up of organisations interested in or practising venture philanthropy and social investment across Europe.
Established in 2004, EVPA aims to be the home as well as the highest-value catalytic network of European social investors, venture philanthropists and foundations committed to using venture philanthropy and social investment tools to target societal impact.
Currently the association has over 220 members from 29 countries.

Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa

The Faculty of Arts of the University of Lisbon (FLUL) is the University’s third largest school, bringing together the major fields of humanities: literary studies, philosophy, history and linguistics. Being an academic institution, FLUL promotes the learning and development of humanities in an integrated way, through its training and research methodologies. As part of its partnership with the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, FLUL collaborates with the Professor Francisco Vieira de Almeida Award, an initiative launched by the VVA Foundation with the aim of revealing and recognising new academic talents and scientific works in various humanities research areas.

Girl MOVE Academy

Girl MOVE Academy is an organisation working to build a world where all women have access to opportunities to be leaders of reference and agents of positive change. To fulfil its mission, Girl MOVE Academy implements innovative mentoring methodologies aimed at young Mozambican women, promoting their sustainable continued education and integration in their communities as disruptive leaders striving for the development and positive transformation of the world at large.

GRACE

GRACE is a pioneer non-profit organization, recognized by Government as of public interest, bringing together over 150 companies ranging in size and economic sector in which they operate, committed to deepening their role in society as well as promoting and developing their initiatives and Corporate Social Responsibility in Portugal. GRACE endeavours to support companies reflect, promote and develop their initiatives and corporate social responsibility and works in partnership with a myriad of public bodies and social economy organizations.

Junior Achievement Portugal

: Junior Achievement Portugal is a non-profit organisation for entrepreneurship education with the mission of inspiring and preparing children and young people to succeed in a global economy, through transformative experiences in three key areas: Citizenship and Financial Literacy, Education for Entrepreneurship and Skills for Employability. Since 2005, JAP has reached more than 340,000 students across Portugal. The organisation’s main goal is to equip young entrepreneurs with the essential skills necessary to reach out to the business world, while simultaneously cultivating a culture of individual social responsibility.

Manicómio

Manicómio is a space for artistic creation, complete with gallery and art studio featuring resident artists who have experienced or currently experience mental illness, in a coworking space open to the public since 2018 in Beato, Lisbon. Manicómio offers freedom in artistic practice and freedom in the pursuit of individual purpose, intersecting art, with mental health and human rights.

ProChild CoLAB

ProChild Against Poverty and Social Exclusion is a Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) that combines the efforts of universities, and various public and private social partners, to develop innovative solutions to a range of problems related to childhood poverty and social exclusion, with a focus on 6 strategic axes:

(1) Health and wellbeing
(2) Development and education
(3) Social participation
(4) Protection
(5) Digital technology
(6) Nanotechnology

For the purposes of implementing this project, an association was created gathering academic partners and several public and private entities, including the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation.

Serve the City

The Serve the City association aims to support socially fragile people by targeting issues related to social exclusion, more specifically the exclusion of homeless people, socially isolated elderly people, vulnerable children and young people, and immigrants and refugees. It works through a network of volunteers and partner entities who, together, seek to mobilize people of diverse conditions and convictions towards a more active, responsible and engaged citizenship, with the goal of taking the spirit of service, engagement and change to the City.

Stand4Good

Stand4Good supports young people throughout their academic career, as well as in the first year following graduation from higher education, seeking to develop key competences and promote youth employability aiming to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion. Stand4Good believes that our background should not constrain the opportunities we have and works on a daily basis to ensure that access to education is, genuinely, open to all.

Teach for Portugal

Teach for Portugal is an innovative project in the field of Education, implemented in partnership with the international organisation Teach for All, which works to significantly transform the life paths of children from underprivileged backgrounds.
To carry out its mission, the project hires recent graduates with leadership potential to provide classroom-based support to schools in the country’s most disadvantaged communities, for a period of two years and with the goal of improving learning among the children of these communities.
