InclusivaMente – Open Admissions

01 March, 2019

Registration is open for the training programme of the InclusivaMente: Human Rights in the context of Ageing and mental Health.

The project is promoted by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation, in partnership with EAPN Portugal – European Anti-Poverty Network, and consists of a training programme on the legal framework governing the activity of social economy entities that provide care to the elderly, dependent persons and/or persons with impairments, with the aim of shaping a more responsible and inclusive understanding of citizenship in these domains.

The project emerges in the context of the recent adoption of the new legal regime of ‘Maior Acompanhado’ (adult persons unable, due to health reasons, disability or behavioral issues, to fully, personally and consciously exercise their rights or fulfil their duties), which has introduced a set of comprehensive and complex legislative changes, abolishing the statutes of interdiction and disqualification and thus giving rise to a new legal paradigm in the exercise of legal capacity. This project aims to contribute to the respect for Human Rights of the elderly, dependent and / or with diminished capacity, with the following main objectives:

  • Empowering citizens for the exercise of an inclusive and responsible citizenship
  • Contribute to the construction of more enlightened practices in the provision of care to ‘Maiores Acompanhados’
  • Raise awareness of the rights of dependent persons and / or those with reduced capacity

The applications are now open and can be done by completing the registration form (contents available only in Portuguese) and sending it to geral@eapn.pt.
