Não Caias na Rede

Education

“Não Caias na Rede!” is a project run by the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation that aims to promote mindful, safe and responsible online behaviour among children and young people.

The project is developed in partnership with Teach For Portugal, which runs the sessions in its partner schools through its Mentors; No Bully Portugal, which provides specialist content to enrich the project material; and ProChild CoLAB, which monitors and assesses the impact of the delivered sessions.

Aimed at students in Years 5 and 6, the “Não Caias na Rede!”projectis delivered through four interactive sessions, during which students are encouraged to consider the risks and challenges of the digital environment. Topics covered include bullying and cyberbullying, online safety, digital rights and responsibilities, and the consequences of inappropriate behaviour on digital platforms. The programme concludes with a mock trial that provides a practical exercise in reflection and learning.

To date, ten Teach For Portugal Mentors have delivered the project across 26 classes in eight school clusters, reaching over 500 students in Years 5 and 6.

Through the “Não Caias na Rede!” project, the Vasco Vieira de Almeida Foundation and its partners are helping young people become more aware and critical, and preparing them to tackle the challenges and opportunities of the digital world responsibly.
