ProChild CoLAB

Education for Citizenship

The ProChild Against Poverty and Social Exclusion Association is a collaborative laboratory (CoLAB) established in December 2018 focusing on effort gathering between universities and various public and private social partners to develop a national strategy against child poverty and social exclusion, framed by a transdisciplinary and innovative scientific approach.

ProChild’s activity is organized into two strategic areas: a) Social Intervention area and b) Technological Development area. The Social Intervention area includes six strategic axes, each one with specific projects, implemented in specific territories:

(1) Health and wellbeing

(2) Development and education

(3) Social participation

(4) Protection

(5) Digital technology

(6) Nanotechnology

Currently, ProChild brings together 16 academic partners and public and private entities, including Fundação Vasco Vieira de Almeida, in association to develop innovative solutions to current large-scale complex multidisciplinary problems, with a significant social and economic impact, supported by a solid governance model.
